Peppa Lunch!

I spent the weekend in Sydney. I booked this trip just to eat at Pepper Lunch. Yeah, silly me. Things I do for food, LOL. I had my first bite of Pepper Lunch steak in Japan, and totally loved it. Now I got my Sydney friends hooked on it too =D

So... I went to Pepper Lunch, hit the beach, met a pinoy pastry chef at Whitewater resto in Manly, saw the play Mamma Mia, went to Cargo bar and got rejected, went to the Ivy - paid $20 to get in, partied til 3AM, had Yumcha, saw Pacquiao's fight at Star City casino, attended church, went shopping, and went to Pepper Lunch (again). Oooh, full circle LOL!

Piggy's 29th

Kelvin (Nov 7), Porsh (Nov 9), and I (Nov 10) had a triple birthday celebration on Saturday night. We started off at Von's in Hardware Lane for dinner then headed to Chaise Lounge and danced the night away!

Thanks to all who came out to party with us! Mwaaah! =)

Wuhoo! =D

Been living in Melbourne for almost four years now, but this city still amazes me. There's still heaps of [old and new] cafes, restos, and bars to try - some hidden in little laneways waiting to be discovered.

New cafe:
1000 £ BEND - a bar/cafe/cinema/art gallery housed in a GIGANTIC
(no exaggeration) warehouse space along Little Lonsdale street. Porsh and I had a peek through the place on Friday and liked it! Great place to eat, drink, chat, hangout, and relax with friends.

New shops:
DFO South Warf
opened a couple of weeks ago. And guess what, there will be a Gap store in it too! To say that I was excited hearing about this news would be an understatement, LOL. Australian retail is slowly becoming Americanized. Who's complaining? Not me!

Old places, just never visited until now:

Brighton Beach bath houses

The Green Grocer - an organic produce store / cafe in the lovely suburb of Fitzroy. Nice ambiance and all day brunch! =)

Ketchup

My friend Don from Sydney, was in town this weekend. Met up with him on Saturday for lunch. We went to Movida, a Spanish restaurant hidden in a laneway off Flinders. They serve mainly tapas and raciones (slightly larger portions) that are oh sooo divine. The place is always busy. Went there waay past lunchtime so we got a table without any reservations. Although it's a bit pricey, I would definitely come back and try that air-cured wagyu beef that everyone's raving about.

After lunch we headed to Scienceworks down in Williamstown to see the Starwars exhibition. We took the ferry going back to the city just right before sunset. How romantic ey? Nah, i
t was friggin cold!

That night me the girls caught up with Johanna at PJ O'briens. She was also visiting from Sydney. The live band at PJs who played 80's dance music were awesome!

I was on my way to meet Don when I saw this group of lovely ladies at the Parliament having a photoshoot. I'd say their age range is between 20's and 50's. They all look gorgeous! Caused a bit of a slowdown in traffic at Spring street, LOL.

A weekend with foster family

Meet auntie Jenny. She's a friend at work, a super smart and sweet lady.
Meet gramps, also from work. He's a very good guitarist/musician.

Saturday. I played my first ever game of squash - with Gramps and auntie Jenn. It's a freakin intense game. I realise I couldn't last longer than 15 minutes in the court. I reckon if you wanna to lose weight, squash is a perfect workout for you.

Sunday I met up with them again. We played badminton with 10 other people from auntie Jenn's badminton club in Doncaster. After the game I hang out at auntie Jenn's place. G
ramps joined us after his band practice, couple of hours later. I met Gabriel, auntie Jenn's husband whom I now call uncle Gabe. I also met their two kids. It was past 9PM when I got home (I left at noon) =P

Monday I played (or tried to play) tennis. I could barely hit a serve, LOL.
